I recently made the jump from console to PC gaming and while I was really excited about it at first, I’m starting to feel like it might not be for me. I set up a new PC with a 4070 Super and a 7800X3D and started playing a bunch of games—some for the first time. I enjoy having choices, but sometimes it feels more like a hassle than fun. I’ve run into issues with different launchers, random crashes, and some games refusing to load. It’s been a lot more effort compared to just popping a game into my PS5 and getting straight into it. Overall, I’m feeling overwhelmed and have decided to return the PC and go back to console gaming. I’m curious if anyone else has had a similar experience when transitioning from consoles to PCs?

I have both, but I find console gaming so much more convenient. I play zillions of indie games on my PC but when it comes to plopping on the couch and playing something, it’s always the console.
I get the appeal of both platforms, but for me, it’s all about mods and customization on PC. Still, I definitely understand the frustration of dealing with technical issues—can be a serious drag when you’d rather just dive into a game.
For sure! I love my mods too, but sometimes it just feels like too much work compared to the plug-and-play of consoles.
As someone who works on computers all day, I don’t want to spend my free time on another PC. After long hours at a desk, playing games on a console while relaxing on the couch is just way more appealing.
Yes! After being on a computer all day, the last thing I want is to sit back down at my desk.
I used to be a hardcore PC gamer, but I switched to console because it started to feel like I was spending way too much money just to fix driver issues and hardware upgrades. Console gaming is just easier and now with decent 4K and HDR, I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much. Plus, it saves me a ton of time!
Exactly! The more time I have to spend fixing things, the less time I have to actually play!
I built my own PC a few years back and honestly, I rarely use it compared to my PS5. Especially since my gaming time is limited, I want to just jump in and play without any setups or tweaks. My PC has mostly turned into my son’s Roblox machine!
Totally feel you! I just want a straightforward gaming experience without all the tech hassle.
Same here! There’s something about the simplicity of consoles that just can’t be beat.
