I’ve been playing League of Legends casually lately, mainly focusing on duo queue when friends are around. However, I’ve noticed something strange: every time I play in duo mode, it seems like my team often includes one or two players who are much lower skill than the average. They’re either feeding or just not contributing at all. On the other hand, I’ve had a smoother experience playing solo queue; my teammates seem more capable and the matches don’t feel as much like a struggle against overly powerful opponents. Has something changed with the matchmaking for duos? It used to feel balanced like solo queue, but now it seems vastly different and harder. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this shift or if Riot has made any adjustments recently.

Yeah, it always seemed like premade teams should face tougher matchups, so your experience sounds right. The current matchmaking can sometimes feel skewed, and you shouldn’t really be getting easier games when you’re playing in a duo. That’s kind of what needs to change!
Honestly, duo matchmaking has felt off for ages, at least for me. I’ve been playing since the early days, and I remember it being better balanced. I think Riot definitely needs to revisit how they handle duo queues.
I think part of the issue could be your rank affecting your matches. Like, if you’re in a high rank and playing with lower-ranked friends, you might end up facing much tougher opponents in casual games. It’s tough when you’re pulled into mismatched lobbies. Plus, the way matchmaking considers MMR swings can be really inconsistent and frustrating; one game you’re up against Iron players, then Gold the next? It doesn’t make sense!
Yeah, it’s rough! I play duo too, and sometimes it’s just a luck of the draw with who you end up with.
Totally get that! It can really mess with the dynamic of the game, especially for solo players who end up in those lobbies.
