I recently had a pretty frustrating experience with my order. On March 10th, I decided to splurge and ordered a PNY GeForce RTX 5080 from Megekko, a popular Dutch retailer. Fast forward to March 13th, and I received two packages from PostNL. But here’s the kicker: my RTX 5080 was nowhere to be found, and instead, they shipped me a random motherboard that I didn’t order at all.
I tried reaching out to Megekko’s customer service, but it quickly turned into a mess. They first blamed delays with delivery, then asked me to provide evidence like photos and weights of the packages— which I did. Eventually, they claimed to have security footage showing the right items were packed, but they’ve never shared that with me. Now, they’re suggesting nothing went wrong, and I’m left stuck, out €1700, with a useless motherboard. I’ve sent them a formal notice of default. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? What steps did you take to resolve it?

Make sure to contact a consumer protection agency. Even if you’re in a country without states, you still have rights. Since they didn’t deliver what you ordered and haven’t refunded you, it’s outright scammy. Write them a formal complaint outlining your expectations for a refund or exchange. Mention EU consumer laws to back yourself up!
You should definitely reach out to your bank as soon as possible. Most banks give you at least 30 days to dispute a charge, and since you don’t have proof from Megekko, you might have a solid chance of reclaiming your money. Just be persistent!
Thanks! I’ll be filing the complaint as soon as I hit that 15-day mark after my purchase!
I appreciate the advice! I’ll definitely draft up a formal complaint referencing EU laws. Fingers crossed!
