As I’ve grown older, I’ve noticed a decrease in my gaming passion. I get excited about a single game for one session but find myself not returning to it. I’m curious about games that reignited your passion for gaming. Whether it’s those that captivate you for multiple sessions or just hook you despite a busy life. Being 26 and working in IT, the idea of sitting at a computer often feels more like a task than a pleasure. What games got you back into that groove?

After a long period of burnout from the usual PVP and open-world games, Elden Ring and Deep Rock Galactic reignited my love for gaming. I decided to step away from PVP games as they were more frustrating than fun. Deep Rock’s coop mining adventures and the surprising events were a refreshing change. Definitely recommend these if you’re feeling the strain from competitive gaming.
Old-school Runescape keeps pulling me back into the gaming scene. What’s enjoyable is you can even train skills on your phone while working, and then jump into bosses or PVP when you have more time. It’s incredibly flexible and keeps gaming fresh for me.
Baldur’s Gate 3 truly revived my interest in games. Before playing it, I had drifted away from gaming for a while. But once I got this in September, I found myself drawn into its world every day. The effort put into its scope and quality really brings out that magic some games have lost.
Switching from competitive PVP titles, I now prefer sandbox games, which focus on creativity and roleplay rather than competition. These games have filled my time with enjoyment rather than frustration. It’s all about creating rather than competing now!
Cyberpunk 2077 was my comeback game! After I finished Witcher 3, I was wandering in search of a similar thrill but didn’t find it in many other big titles. Then I tried Cyberpunk and got utterly drawn in—especially the gigs and side quests which were immersive and thrilling to complete.
Resident Evil 2 Remake had an incredible impact on me after years away from gaming. The detailed puzzles, audio atmosphere, and shooting mechanics absolutely captivated me. Before this, I only played on a PS3, but the remake, alongside a gifted used PS4, completely rejuvenated my interest.
