I’m curious to hear about games that you know are amazing but for some reason just don’t click with you. For me, it’s Red Dead Redemption 2. I can recognize its genius in terms of design, the incredible world, and freedom, yet I find myself getting bored after just a few hours. I’ve given it three tries and always end up losing interest, which is frustrating because I know it’s a great game. What about you?

The Witcher 3 was another that I tried multiple times. Just couldn’t get into the combat. I hear so much praise about it, but for me, it just felt tedious.
I couldn’t get into it either; my friends love it, but I just find myself bored with the fighting mechanics.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is another one for me. It’s got tons of options and great storytelling, but I’m telling you, the combat is just so dull. I tried playing co-op with friends and had to drop out after just a couple of sessions. It felt like real D&D but way too slow-paced!
Exactly! I made it to act 3 and just couldn’t push through. The first two games were amazing, but this one just didn’t grab me.
I know what you mean! I wanted to love it too, but the constant dice rolls and slow combat really killed the vibe for me.
Honestly, anything that’s labeled as ‘souls-like’ doesn’t do it for me. I completely understand the appeal, but to me, they often feel more like a chore than actual fun. I’ve tried a few but always come away frustrated.
Same here! I just can’t get into the grind of dying over and over. I wish I enjoyed them, but they’re just not my jam.
Is it the combat that you find unappealing? I enjoy the mechanics but can’t stand the difficulty. I prefer easier games that still have fun combat like the Jedi series.
I really struggled with the beginning of RDR2 as well. It felt like a horse-riding simulator at first, and I was bored until the story finally picked up. Maybe it just takes a while to get into the groove of it?
I totally get that. It wasn’t until later that I really started connecting with Arthur and the story. You just gotta power through that initial slog!
Same! It took me several tries, but I finally got hooked on the storyline. Maybe find a guide that helps with combat tips?
