Hey everyone! I recently downloaded the remaster on Game Pass for PC, and my setup should handle it without any hiccups—I’ve got an i5 11400F, an RTX 3050 with 8 GB of VRAM, and 32 GB of RAM, all running on DirectX 12. I’m relatively new to PC gaming, so I’m not sure if there’s something I might be overlooking. Has anyone else experienced their game starting off smooth but then turning into a laggy mess that crashes, indicating it’s exceeding the VRAM?

We’ve compared GeForce GTX 1070 Ti and GeForce RTX 3080, covering specs and all relevant benchmarks. RTX 3080 outperforms GTX 1070 Ti by an impressive 71% based on our aggregate benchmark results. GPU architecture, market segment, value for money and other general parameters compared.
If you’re exceeding your VRAM, it might mean your 3050 isn’t quite cutting it for this game at higher settings. Even though you’re on low settings, the recommendation for this game is a 2080, which performs better than your card, so try turning down some graphics settings further if it’s crashing.
It sounds like you might be dealing with a memory leak in the game. I’d recommend checking the Task Manager while you’re playing to see if the RAM usage keeps climbing. Based on your description, though, it doesn’t seem like a problem on your end; I wouldn’t be too worried since other games run fine for you.
Yeah, I suspected it might be a memory leak too from my initial research, but I just wanted to make sure.
What resolution are you playing at, and what graphics settings are you using? With only 8GB VRAM, that can be tough, especially since UE5 is pretty demanding. A quick check shows that a 1070ti is listed as the minimum requirement, and the 3050 is slightly slower than that.
I’m running everything on low at 1440p. I even let the game auto-detect the settings, and it starts off fine but crashes after a while. It’s frustrating!
I’ve got everything on low, though! I might need to look into lowering the resolution even more or something.
