Hey everyone! I’ve been playing this awesome game for about 40 hours and hit level 25, but I’m really frustrated with how quickly I leveled up. I dove into various magic schools and did a bunch of random dungeons and side quests, and now I’ve got 3-4 different skills close to level 100. The problem is, I feel like I’m facing late-game enemies while I’m still just a journeyman in the mage’s guild, and I haven’t even explored places like Sancre Tor yet. It’s tough to roleplay my character when I’m almost expert in a bunch of skills. I’ve seen that many others have had this issue too. Do you guys have suggestions for skills I can pick for a new character that would help slow down my progress? I’m thinking about skills like Block, Sneak, Security, Mysticism, Alteration, Hand-to-Hand, and Speechcraft. Any other ideas?

You might want to consider Athletics since it levels really slowly unless you’re doing some crazy AFK swimming or something. Also, if you pick major skills that you don’t frequently use, it can help limit your leveling. Just a heads-up, though, be prepared that the game might feel a bit easier since you’ll still be over-leveled for the enemies. And on another note, I have a playthrough where I’m still level 1 and it’s a whole new level of fun!
Right! I’m not struggling at all; I’m just finding that I’m already facing the toughest enemies without progressing much in the main story or guilds. I plan to focus on the mages guild and the main quest with this character, then I might start fresh for a character to explore all the guild quests.
