Every time I try to play Fortnite on my PC, it completely locks up, and I can’t open any other programs. I have no idea what’s causing it. I’ve even forced my computer to shut down to handle the freezes. Trying to use browsers is impossible as they stop loading properly, Discord fails, and even Task Manager won’t respond. I’ve done virus checks, reinstalled the game, and updated drivers. My specs should handle Fortnite: Ryzen 7 3700x, 32GB RAM, and NVIDIA 4060 TI. Any thoughts on fixing this without a massive reset?

Considering you’ve handled thermals properly and your fans are good, I doubt it’s overheating. Have you tried tweaking in-game settings before launching or verifying the game’s files through the Epic Games Launcher? Sometimes corrupt files can seriously mess up your PC. Also, the 32GB of RAM should be plenty, but if it’s a bit older, it might be worth checking it’s seated properly or testing with a tool like MemTest just to rule it out.
Hey there, sometimes these kinds of issues are linked to driver conflicts, especially after GPU swaps. Since you’ve already swapped from AMD to NVIDIA, I’d double-check that no stray AMD drivers are lingering. Maybe run a tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode just to be sure they’re truly gone. After you clean it up, install the NVIDIA drivers fresh and see if that helps clear things up.
Honestly, this sounds kind of like a weird software glitch. I recommend trying clean booting your PC. This means disabling all non-essential startup programs. It could help determine if software is clashing with Fortnite. I know it sounds drastic, but sometimes reinstalling Windows is the last resort to clear any deep-seated issues, especially if nothing else works.
