I’ve really enjoyed playing Final Fantasy VII Remake and I love the franchise in general! Rebirth has some fantastic characters and incredible graphics, but I’ve hit a wall in Chapter 9. I feel like I’m just wandering around Gaia without a clear goal anymore. At first, we were chasing the hooded guys, but now I’m not sure what’s going on. Is this a common sentiment? Is it because I only play once a week, or is it just how the game is designed?

It’s normal to feel a bit lost. Since you’re in Chapter 9, just keep heading to Gongaga for the next reactor. The game does allow for some exploration, but don’t let it distract you too much from the main storyline—they’re still following the hooded folks!
Rebirth really does slow down after Costa del Sol, but it serves as a breather before the intense endgame. Don’t worry too much about exploring everything right now; it’s fine to skip side quests and come back later if it gets too tedious!
Honestly, your play sessions might be the reason you’re feeling lost. The narrative is mostly straightforward—you’re pursuing Sephiroth while dodging Shinra. If you stick to it, the story picks up steam after Chapter 12, so just hang in there!
I honestly think the pacing could be better. If things feel unclear, stick to story quests for your first playthrough and tackle the side stuff on a second run. Each character has distinct motivations that get clearer as you progress, but it might feel jumbled now. For example, Cloud’s seeking closure over Sephiroth’s past and Tifa wants to protect him. Keep going!
Yeah, it does pick up later, but I totally get why you feel that way now. Around Chapter 9, I started ignoring side quests and just focused on the main story, especially past Gongaga. It helps keep the pace up!
I really loved the side quests until about Cosmo Canyon too, but I ended up feeling the same way—just wanting to wrap it up. It kind of drags a bit after that.
Just got to a jungle area! Looks cool, but I’m still not sure where I’m headed.
