I’m diving into Resident Evil 7 for the first time on my PC, but I’m running into a frustrating problem. During certain cutscenes, like the VHS tapes or the initial dinner scene with the Bakers, the game drops in performance while the audio continues to play smoothly. This really takes away from the immersion. Has anyone else faced this issue, and do you have any suggestions on how to fix it?

I haven’t experienced that issue at all. For what it’s worth, have you tried lowering your graphics settings? It might help with the performance during those cutscenes, but I’m not sure since I haven’t run into this myself.
It could be related to your storage drive. Check if your HDD or SSD usage spikes during those scenes—like if the front LED on your case is flashing a lot. If your hard drive is old, it might be struggling with the game data.
Yeah, my hard drive is pretty worn out. That might be the issue, thanks for the tip!
