I’m currently trying to play CS2 on Pop!_OS, but I’m seeing significantly worse performance compared to when I use Windows. Vulkan seems to be forced, which I really don’t like having to deal with. Is there any known fix for this issue? For reference, I’m using an NVIDIA 2060 and an i9-9700 processor.

I had a better FPS experience with CS2 on CachyOS versus Windows. It seems to run smoother, so you might want to give that a try.
Pop!_OS used to be favored for gaming, but not so much anymore. If you’re looking for better performance, you might want to consider switching to a distro based on Arch or Fedora, like Bazzite or Nobara. These often support NVIDIA cards better due to more recent drivers compared to Ubuntu or Debian-based systems.
Have you tried launching the game with the -gl option? It might help improve your performance a bit.
I feel you! CS2 just doesn’t seem well optimized. On my setup, which ran CS:GO perfectly fine, I experienced significant FPS drops in CS2, going under 30 at times. It’s frustrating that they replaced the old, working game with something that feels bloated. For now, I’m sticking with CS:Source until I can upgrade my hardware.
Exactly! I loved CS:GO, and this really feels like a downgrade. Hoping for some patches soon.
