Hey everyone! I recently upgraded my prebuilt HP Omen by replacing the 3060 Ti with a new 4080, and I’m running into some issues. I have a Ryzen 5800X and am aiming for 1440p gaming, so I thought the bottleneck wouldn’t be too severe. However, I’ve noticed that games like Apex Legends and The Finals are crashing after just a few seconds of gameplay. The event viewer mentioned something like “GPUID: 2b00” and error 153. I reached out to the manufacturer, and they’re sending a replacement for the GPU. Do you think this will solve the issue, or could my other components be the culprit? Here’s my full rig: 5800x, 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz, Gigabyte 4080 OC, MSI B550 A Pro, Corsair RM850 Watt PSU, and a Phantom Spirit CPU cooler. I’ve already tried DDU, rolling back drivers, updating the BIOS, Windows, and tweaking settings in BIOS and the Nvidia control panel. My temps look good too, with the GPU around 50-70°C and CPU at 70-80°C during gaming. Any ideas or tips? Thanks! 🙏

Have you looked at the power cables connected to your GPU? I had a similar issue where my games crashed, and it turned out to be the extension cable to my GPU that was causing the problem.
Did you try using drivers from December 2024 or earlier? Sometimes rolling back to older drivers can fix stability issues, especially with new hardware.
I did try version 561.09, but I’m not sure when that was released.
Have you checked the temperatures of your components? Using a program like Open Hardware Monitor can help you see individual temperatures. A friend of mine experienced crashes after upgrading parts, and her PC got super hot. Just a thought!
Yeah, I checked the temps using HwInfo, and everything seems normal.
I did try switching the PCIe cables with a 12VPWHR cable from Corsair, but that didn’t solve it.
