I’m having a frustrating issue with my Dualsense controller when using it wirelessly via Bluetooth. Initially, it works perfectly, but after a few minutes, I experience severe lag where inputs get stuck. For example, if I’m looking to the right, the controller continues to move right even after I try to adjust the analog stick, which becomes unresponsive until the lag resolves itself. This issue isn’t just normal lag or interference; it’s like the inputs are freezing. I’m using a TP-Link USB Bluetooth adapter (version 5.3), and I’ve ensured there’s no interference from other devices. It begins fine but deteriorates quickly. Could this be a driver issue? I’m using CachyOS Plasma and here are my installed Bluetooth packages: bluedevil, bluez, bluez-hid2hci, bluez-libs, bluez-utils, hidapi, libldac, and qt6-connectivity. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I also have a TP-Link adapter, and I experience weird issues too. Sometimes, restarting the Bluetooth service helps. As for a replacement, any PCI WiFi adapter with Bluetooth should work, but I’d suggest looking into specific models that are known to have good reviews for stability.
I’ve had a similar experience with the TP-Link USB Bluetooth adapters – they’re pretty unreliable, even on Windows. You might want to try disconnecting any other Bluetooth devices you have connected and see if that improves things. Honestly, I ended up tossing my dongle and switched to a PCI WiFi card with Bluetooth support. Much better performance!
I can confirm that the behavior didn’t change, even with all other devices disconnected. I’m wondering if the dongle itself is faulty.
What PCI WiFi adapter do you recommend? I’m in the same boat and need a reliable option for Bluetooth.
