I’ve had a blast with Dying Light 1 – it scared the living daylights out of me, but I loved it nonetheless. Now I’m considering Dying Light 2 or trying No Man’s Sky, which has always piqued my interest. I’m looking for a survival sandbox game to really dive into since I’m getting tired of competitive multiplayer shooters. They’re both around 20 bucks, with No Man’s Sky being just a couple more dollars. Both are available on PC, and I can run Dying Light 2 on high settings, but I’m unsure about No Man’s Sky since the recommended specs aren’t listed. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

No Man’s Sky is kinda life-changing if you’re jumping in for the first time! There’s really nothing quite like exploring its infinite universe. It’s a game that you can potentially get lost in for months, whereas Dying Light 2 might be more of a short-lived experience, like a couple of weeks. You’d probably find more of that sandbox itch scratched with NMS.
Definitely go for No Man’s Sky. Dying Light 2 hasn’t received as much praise as the first game, although it’s not a bad choice per se. Meanwhile, NMS had a shaky start but has transformed dramatically with tons of updates, and there’s yet another big update incoming. It’s constantly improving.
I initially wasn’t impressed when I first played No Man’s Sky, but after buying it during a holiday sale, it won me over. The game has an incredible atmosphere, and transitioning in and out of planets is super smooth. Even though I’ve only had limited time with it, it’s been really promising so far.
Dying Light 2 might get offered for free on services like PS Plus or Epic Games soon, while No Man’s Sky is not as likely to head down that route. If you’re looking for better value over the long term, NMS could be the way to go.
I was really let down by Dying Light 2, especially since the first game was amazing. On the other hand, No Man’s Sky is pretty incredible, despite its rough start. You should definitely jump into NMS.
Dying Light 2 is entertaining and they’ve worked on improving it, but it doesn’t quite measure up to the original. Since you’re into sandbox survival games, No Man’s Sky could be the better pick. Dying Light 2 might not quite hit that mark you’re aiming for.
