I’m trying to convince my friend to give Death Stranding a shot, especially since it’s on sale on Steam. However, he’s a bit hesitant about spending $50. I want to make sure he gets the best experience possible, with all the DualSense features like adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and the controller speaker. Can anyone tell me if the Steam version supports these features?

It covers everything except for the controller speaker, and it’s a little odd that you can’t soothe the BB by rocking the controller—you have to use the joystick instead. But overall, playing on PC with a controller felt just as good as on console, even though I was waving it around out of habit!
Absolutely, the Full DualSense support is available in the Director’s Cut on PC, just make sure to connect the controller via USB instead of Bluetooth. Also, remember to disable ‘Steam Inputs’ for the game! I heard that adaptive triggers over Bluetooth were added in a recent update, but USB is the way to go for full functionality.
Have you actually tried out the adaptive triggers through Bluetooth? I couldn’t get that to work wirelessly myself.
I gave it a shot yesterday and it seems like all the PS5 features are implemented! But I had trouble getting them to work over Bluetooth. I tried everything—disabled Steam input and closed any DS4 emulation, but still no luck. It seems like it should work, though.
Yeah, it supports pretty much all the DualSense features except for the controller speaker. If your friend wants to dive into Death Stranding, he should probably jump in soon since the sequel is coming up!
You can enable that soothing feature! Just go to the controller settings and set ‘Control for Soothing BB’ to Motion, and make sure ‘BB Voice output’ is set to ‘Playstation Controller’ in audio settings.
