Hey everyone, I’ve been gaming for a long time, and now at 32, I’m looking to dive into WoW Classic. One of the best parts of MMOs for me is the thrill of exploring new worlds, something I loved in games like Lineage II and Guild Wars. Recently, I found myself a bit bored with GW2 after finishing all the missions and maps, so I’m really eager to discover new lands again.
But there’s this modern issue with subscriptions—I feel anxious about not making the most of a subscription like Netflix, HBO, or Gamepass. My concern is that if I pay for a WoW subscription, I’ll constantly worry about playing enough to not feel like I’m wasting my money.
Is it just me, or do others feel this way too?

A lot of it comes down to how you perceive value. Personally, I aim for at least an hour of quality gameplay for every dollar I spend, and WoW definitely meets that—so I don’t feel bad about subscribing at all.
Yeah, WoW has that FOMO vibe, but if paying $15 a month stresses you out, it might be worth considering if this game is right for you. There are so many great free games out there that might not come with that pressure.
I think the best strategy is to go for a month-to-month subscription. If you find you’re not playing enough, just don’t resub. Plus, playing WoW can give you loads of hours of fun for the price of a new game!
