Hey folks! I heard a rumor that Apex Legends is limited to mouse polling rates of 2000Hz (2K) at most, but I can’t seem to find any solid confirmation on that. I currently use a high polling rate mouse (4K/8K), and I’m curious whether playing Apex will actually benefit from that higher polling rate or if it’s capped at 2K. Have any of you tested this or found definitive info regarding Apex’s polling rate support? I’d really appreciate your insights!

I used to have an 8K polling rate mouse, but I had to dial it back to 2K because of stuttering in Apex. It could be that some setups have compatibility issues—just a heads up!
If your monitor refresh rate is below 300Hz, you won’t really benefit from a 4K polling rate. For monitors under 200Hz, sticking with 1K or 2K is perfectly fine.
From my research, I haven’t found any concrete limits on polling rates for Apex Legends or the Source Engine it’s built on. Some players have reported issues with higher polling rates like stuttering, but enabling raw mouse input can help. You can do this by setting m_rawinput 1 in your launch options or execs. So, definitely keep your mouse drivers and OS up to date just to be safe!
I used to struggle with stuttering when using polling rates over 1K, but that problem seems to have been fixed. Personally, I’ve tested polling rates from 500Hz to 4K, and all worked without issues for me during gameplay in Apex. So it looks like they improved things!
As far as I know, there used to be issues with polling rates over 2K, but I think they’ve sorted that out. I’ve got an 8K mouse too, but I usually play on 2K to save battery on my wireless setup. During my tests in the latest season, everything worked fine on 8K!
Thanks for the heads up! I’ll keep that in mind.
