Hey everyone! I recently picked up League of Legends again and I’m currently at Emerald rank after peaking in Masters before. I was playing jungle as Rengar with some friends and went for first blood against a Kai’Sa, but I ended up dying under the tower before minions even spawned. My teammates instantly started saying the game was lost. I get that they’re mentally checking out, but I wanted to get some confirmation from you all.
I’m curious, does a 300-gold lead really equal an immediate game loss? That’s about the cost of Tier 1 boots, and I feel like the game isn’t over just because of that. How much of a gold lead do you think makes bot lane completely unplayable? Honestly, even if I died three times, I still think we could play through it. For me, a 1k+ gold lead is annoying, but anything less seems manageable. What do you all think?

It’s not insta gg, but your bot lane is going to have a rough time for a while. Just remember that while you might be having fun in the jungle, your teammates could be feeling the pressure from an early disadvantage. It’s all about mindset; if you play it right, you can still turn it around!
Nah, it’s definitely not an automatic loss. If that were the case, we’d just give up right after first blood every game! Sure, your bot lane might struggle for a bit after your death, but a 300-gold lead isn’t going to ruin everything. It’s more about how you and your team recover from it.
I get where you’re coming from, but think of it this way: if your support got first blood at the cost of dying and giving the enemy jungler an advantage, you’d probably be frustrated too, right? It’s about the psychology of the game. If your teammates feel behind, it puts more pressure on everyone. Just try and help them bounce back if you can!
True! It really just depends on matchups too. Sometimes even a small gold lead isn’t that impactful if the champions can outplay in their lanes. But you’re right about the mentality; it can lead to a spiral if people give up too easily.
