I’ve been feeling pretty nostalgic lately, and I just had this thought about the Xbox 360’s 20th anniversary. While helping a friend clear out their parents’ home, we stumbled upon his brother’s old Xbox 360. It fired up with the original Blades Dashboard, which was such a blast from the past! It’s been a while since I’ve seen that, especially with the current Metro Dashboard feeling kind of empty and dull after the store closure.
I know it’s a long shot, but wouldn’t it be awesome if they released one last update to bring back the Blades design, but with all the features added over the years? Like, imagine having the option to choose between the Blades, NXE, or Metro dashboards in the console settings! It’s a total pipe dream, but I just want the 20th anniversary to feel special and memorable. What do you all think?

Honestly, even though I don’t mind the Metro dashboard, I think they should at least update it for better two-factor authentication and maybe fix the game icon stretching issue. It’s such a shame how Xbox has neglected the 360 lately. Why not keep the store and just limit payments to gift cards? Seems like a better option overall!
I’m actually okay with no updates, since mine is modded, and I prefer to keep playing my burned games. But hey, bringing back the Blades sounds perfect for those who miss it!
Haha, as soon as I saw your post, I immediately thought of the Blades too! Those were the glory days, right? I really miss that interface.
I’d be totally down for that! But honestly, as long as my 360 plays the games, I’m satisfied. That’s what really counts in the end, right?
Yeah, I feel ya! Would’ve been nice if they made it easier to download your old purchased games. Isn’t the only way to do it just scrolling through your purchase history? Seems like a hassle!
Exactly! Just having access to the games we love is the real goal. By the way, I think Microsoft should’ve worked harder on expanding their backwards compatibility. Only 632 Xbox 360 games added to a library of over 2,100? That’s just sad.
