I’ve heard that add-ons are essential for both PVP and raiding in World of Warcraft, but I’m running into some issues. I’ve tried downloading a few popular add-ons, but they just don’t seem to work properly and are super buggy. If I can’t get these add-ons to function as intended, am I completely out of luck in terms of performance?

If you’re serious about raiding, yeah, add-ons make it easier. But it’s your game too—play however you enjoy! Just keep in mind that the essential add-ons should run smoothly if set up correctly.
The only MUST-HAVE add-on for PvE is either DBM or Bigwigs. They’ve been around for ages and are usually very stable. If you’re having issues, it’s likely a setup problem. Try a fresh install of the game and use an add-on manager like WoWWUP to keep it simple.
For raiding, I’d suggest using DBM and Details. Those two are generally sufficient for heroic content. Weakauras can be helpful but aren’t absolutely necessary. Make sure you’re downloading from reliable sources like CurseForge, as they usually work without issues.
Totally agree! Those are the big ones you need. If you do run into problems, it’s probably worth checking your installation.
Honestly, it often comes down to whether you know how to use the add-ons. Some folks might blame bugs, but it could just be user error!
Exactly! These add-ons are tried and tested. If they’re buggy, something’s up with your setup.
