Lately, I’ve started buying and storing a bunch of PS5 games instead of relying solely on PlayStation Plus. The idea was to save them for a rainy day when I’d have more time, but that day hasn’t come yet! I now have about 10 big titles on my hard drive that I really want to play eventually. My collection covers a mix of genres, including preorders like Death Stranding 2 and other games like Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 4 remake, Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Metaphor Re Fantazio, Spider-Man Remastered, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Horizon Forbidden West, and God of War Ragnarok, which I’m loving right now. I’m also patiently waiting for the pre-order for Ghost of Yotei. Does anyone else do this kind of game backlog or stockpile?

Personally, I avoid preordering for my backlog. I prefer adding games to my wishlist and waiting for sales or free offers on PS Plus. Helps keep the backlog manageable. I try to focus on finishing at least one game a month so I don’t get overwhelmed.
Haha, yeah, that’s what folks call the “Pile of Shame.” I have the same problem! Sometimes I buy games when they’re cheap or during sales, then end up with a massive backlog. It’s a guilty pleasure in a way.
I do the exact same thing with my PS5. Buying games as they drop so I have plenty saved for later. Sometimes the ‘rainy day’ takes a while to show up, but it feels good having lots lined up. Plus, it gives you options depending on your mood.
You’re definitely not alone! Backlogging is pretty common, especially with big titles and preorders nowadays. It’s great to have a variety of genres waiting for when you want to switch things up or have more time.
