Do We Really Have Enough Side Quests in the Game?

-

I’m really feeling the lack of actual side quests in the game. Right now, we mostly have the main story, along with some events and collections that attempt to deliver side narratives. To me, these side stories feel kind of mediocre and poorly executed. It would be amazing to have dedicated questlines that allow us to interact more personally with the various factions, races, and organizations in the game. For example, wouldn’t it be cool to have a questline where we track down a bandit group around Divinity’s Reach and Kryta? Or maybe a wizard-themed quest where we recover a magical artifact? Just something to immerse us into the world beyond the main story would be fantastic!

I get the frustration. While there are achievements that tell stories, like the Knight of Thorns or other collections, they do feel a bit clunky. It’s like the good content is there, but the way it’s presented makes it less enjoyable to engage with.

I think if they could make some of these quests repeatable, it would greatly enhance the experience.

Actually, there are quests like that! Check out “Justice of the Blade,” which involves tracking down a bandit group in Kryta. It’s even marked as a side quest in the Achievement Log and you can earn some cool rewards like the Bandit Death Mark accessory. Just don’t forget to look for it!

SilentShadow99 -

Yeah, I’ve heard of it but honestly, the way they implemented these side stories feels pretty awkward and not engaging at all.

GameLoreMage -

Yeah, I feel you! It’s like the achievements are the closest we get to side quests, but they are often more of a checklist than a proper quest. They need to create a better system for tracking these stories, not just lump them into achievements.

DungeonExplorer94 -

Right! Having something akin to a traditional quest log would really improve player interaction.

QuestingHero123 -

I think the way the game is designed means that some players are looking for typical “go here and do that” tasks that aren’t as prevalent. The content is there, but it’s just not organized in a way that feels familiar to a lot of MMO players.

ChroniclerOfLegends -

Exactly! They need to rethink how they present these stories to make them feel more organic and integral to the game.

QuestGuru_84 -

I think the main issue is discoverability rather than a lack of content. There are a ton of hidden side stories tied to Legendary weapon collections and certain regions actually have “Side Stories” categories in the achievement panel that are worthwhile. Fractals and raids also have their own narratives if you dive into them!

LoreHunter77 -

That’s true! If the devs could tag and display all these side quests in a more accessible way, it would help a lot.

WarriorOfLight -

Totally agree! It’s frustrating when it feels so scattered and not very repeatable.
