I’m curious about Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Mirage and whether they include missions that step outside the Animus, particularly Abstergo-related ones. I enjoyed Origins, especially because it had minimal Abstergo elements. So, can anyone give me a breakdown of how many missions either game has that take place outside the Assassin settings? I’d like to know before I dive into these two!

In Valhalla, there’s a brief section at the end that involves the present day but it’s not particularly centered around Abstergo. You just have Layla visiting an ISU temple, and it doesn’t take long. Mirage, on the other hand, has zero modern-day content, so you can just enjoy the Assassin gameplay without interruptions.
So, Valhalla has a few modern-day snippets scattered throughout, while Mirage is completely focused on the Assassin narrative. If you loved the low-key approach in Origins, you might find Valhalla’s modern bits a bit distracting, but Mirage will be right up your alley!
Valhalla offers a couple of quick modern-day moments, but they’re really just walk-and-chat situations that last only a few minutes—definitely not full-fledged missions. If you’re looking for Assassin action without modern disruptions, Mirage is the way to go!
