I’ve been trying out the new laser pistol and I think it’s awesome! The new armor passives seem really promising, especially with builds like the senator and bushwhacker. However, since the laser pistol uses HEAT instead of traditional ammo, I wonder whether the armor’s passives impact its cooldown or heat loss. From my testing, it seems like the answer is ‘no.’ I’m curious if anyone else has explored this and if there are any deeper insights to share. It feels odd that the new armor set doesn’t enhance the performance of the laser pistol (besides swap and reload speeds) given they’re introduced together.

I’ve got to agree with NinjaSniper92. The armor passives definitely help with other sidearms but don’t really do much for the laser pistol. The only scenario where it might be useful is if you’re depleting a clip fast, which isn’t ideal since the heat management is pretty efficient already. But hey, at least the armor looks great, right?
The passive effects seem pretty limited for the laser pistol, unfortunately. They boost reload and swap speeds, but when it comes to heat loss, there’s no real benefit. So, yeah, I’d say they don’t affect its cooldown rate at all. Not that useful for this specific weapon, if I’m being honest.
