Hey everyone, my PS4 recently got a bit messed up, and I had to factory reset it to get it back on track. Unfortunately, I lost all my game progress since 2020 because that was the last time I did a backup. I’m wondering if my PlayStation Plus Extra games, like Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins, will retain their saved data after this reset, or am I out of luck?

Yeah, if you’re using PS Plus, it should save your data in the cloud. I tried it myself, but I found that all my save files were only from 2020 as well after my reset.
I believe Ubisoft keeps your save data for Assassin’s Creed on their servers, so you might be safe there. But for PS Plus, if you’re a member, your save files are backed up in cloud storage automatically—you just need to download them again if you need to.
From what I’ve experienced, your save data is usually kept with PlayStation Plus. I had to uninstall Odyssey for several months and when I redownloaded it, all my save data was still there. Just a heads up though, if you stop your PlayStation Plus subscription, the saves might get deleted after a while.
Hey, do you happen to know how long the save data is kept? My PS Plus ends in April, but I plan to renew during the June sale. Should I start Ghost of Tsushima now?
Did you find out if that changes with a factory reset? I’m worried since I lost progress in other games.
