I’m really interested in playing Red Dead Redemption 2, but I don’t want to spend more money buying it again on Xbox. If I link my Steam account with my Xbox, will my games carry over?

Nope, linking them won’t transfer any games. You’ll have to get the Xbox version if you want to play it on that console. Oh, what a bummer!
You can’t transfer your Steam games to Xbox just by linking accounts. The only games that work across both platforms are the ‘Play Anywhere’ titles you buy directly from the Microsoft Store. So, unfortunately, you’ll need to buy Red Dead 2 again for Xbox if you want to play it there. Sorry!
Linking your accounts doesn’t help with this. It’s best to refund the game on Steam if you can and then buy it on Xbox. If the refund isn’t an option, you’ll just have to grab it again for Xbox. That’s pretty much how it goes!
