As a new player diving into Diablo 4, I’m curious about the importance of meta builds. Since I’m mainly focused on enjoying the main story, do I really need to worry about using meta builds? I’m currently using a werewolf and ravens setup for my Druid and I’m not sure how strong it is or if I should care about optimizing my build right now.

You can totally breeze through the campaign with any random skills and gear. Just enjoy the story!
Not at all! Meta builds are really only crucial for the endgame and tougher difficulties. Just have fun and play however you like!
You could probably just mash buttons and still beat the campaign. Most builds can reach the highest difficulty, Torment 4, as long as you’re not too random with your choices. Meta builds are really just overkill for the hardest challenges.
Nah, I’m having a blast with my lightning strike druid on Torment 1! You can make a fun build that works just fine for the story. The meta is only more important for certain locked quests on higher tiers.
Don’t stress about meta builds for the story. You have plenty of time to switch things up if you want to get stronger later, and leveling up is super fast in this game!
Quill volley spirit born is also pretty solid! Plenty of fun options out there.
Meta builds are primarily for Torment difficulties and effective farming. For the story, any decent build works fine, especially on lower difficulties. Just enjoy experimenting!
It really depends on what you mean by meta. Most builds can handle Torment 4 as long as they aren’t totally random.
Wait, what? Blood Spear and Blood Wave necros are definitely meta too! They can compete with the top sorc and rogue builds.
