I’m having some frame pacing issues while playing Tony Hawk’s Underground on Dolphin, and I’ve come across some info about how Dolphin manages CPU cores. Since the Steam Deck gets regular updates from Valve, is it still necessary to limit the cores to 3 with Power Tools, or has the OS taken care of it? Any insights would be appreciated!

From what I understand, core limiting isn’t as crucial anymore since it’s handled by the OS now. However, pinning your GPU and CPU might help with performance. You could try setting your GPU to 1000 for smoother gameplay. You don’t actually need Power Tools for this; you can adjust it directly in the Performance menu through the three-dot button. Also, if you’re still facing stuttering, you might want to check out the PS2 version of the game as a backup option.
I appreciate the tip on the GPU setting! Do you know if Power Tools is still a thing? I saw it bundled with the latest EmuDeck update but wonder if it’s necessary anymore.
