I’m currently in South Knot City in Death Stranding, and I’m wondering if completing the Urgent Pizza deliveries is really necessary for advancing the game. Will I miss out on anything important if I skip them?

I’d say do the orders. They unlock some cool items, and there’s something special that happens after you complete the final delivery. No spoilers here, but you’ll want to go back once you’re done!
Nope! You can ignore them if you want. Finishing those deliveries just adds extra story and context, but they’re not essential for game progression.
If you see a delivery order without that orange strand in the background, it’s just a side mission and not needed to move forward in the game.
Honestly, those orders are the best part of the game for me! But if you’re just focused on the main story, you can skip them.
