Hey everyone, I’ve been using the Nitro N50-650 prebuilt PC with a 3050 graphics card for about 10 months, but I’m realizing it wasn’t the best investment. I’m looking to upgrade to a 4070 Super or an RX 7600 XT. I’m a bit of a newbie to this kind of stuff. Since these are pretty substantial upgrades, I’m wondering if my current Nitro N50-650 motherboard will be compatible or if I’ll need to upgrade it. Also, are there any other components, like the power supply, that I’d need to upgrade to avoid bottlenecking?

Before you worry about the motherboard, the first thing to check is your PSU wattage. A more powerful GPU will likely need a higher wattage PSU. Check the sticker on the side of your power supply for the wattage information. The motherboard could be compatible, but double-check if it supports the power these GPUs require.
Also consider if your current CPU can keep up with the new GPU. Bottlenecking could occur if your CPU isn’t powerful enough to handle these cards. Check online benchmarks or pairings for your current CPU with the GPUs you’re considering to get an idea.
The good news is you probably won’t need to upgrade your motherboard for a graphics card upgrade, unless it has some really old PCIe slots or something. But, like TechSavvyTroll99 said, make sure your PSU can handle the new card. The 4070 Super or RX 7600 XT will likely need at least a 600W PSU, and possibly more depending on other hardware.
Don’t forget about case size! Some of those high-end GPUs are quite large, so make sure your case can fit the new card. Otherwise, you might find yourself needing a new case just to house the thing.
