I’m curious about jumping into World of Final Fantasy on PC, but I’m wondering how much I need to know about the earlier Final Fantasy games. I’ve played a bit of the PS1 era titles but I’m not deeply familiar with them. Do I need to know the stories or characters from those games to get the plot of WoFF, or is it more about recognizing familiar faces and Easter eggs?

Honestly, you don’t need extensive knowledge of previous games. WoFF is more about the callbacks and Easter eggs than requiring you to know each plot detail. It’s great if you do, but it’s not essential.
