I’m really curious about the role of game reviews among casual players. Personally, I prefer to dive into a game and form my own opinions, even if that means potentially getting burned. I feel that reviewers might not align with what I enjoy or how I play, and bugs don’t bother me since they usually get fixed over time. I’m just not convinced that waiting for someone else’s assessment makes sense for what I want to play.

I usually don’t look at reviews unless I’m unsure about a game I’m interested in. I mainly check to see if there are any major bugs or issues. There are definitely games I’ve loved that critics panned. Reviews can be helpful, but I often trust my gut and friends’ recommendations more.
It really depends on the studio. If it’s a beloved franchise like Rockstar or Capcom, I often buy it right away without checking reviews. I like to go in blind because I trust I’ll enjoy it. But for other games, I tend to be more cautious and look at reviews first.
Yeah, I definitely wait for reviews. With limited time and money, I want to make informed choices. Reviews can be just opinions, but they often help me decide. Sometimes they get me excited about a game, while other times they save me from making a bad investment.
