I noticed after the latest game update that bards no longer whistle their spells if they don’t have an instrument equipped in the dedicated slot. Before, you could remove your lute or drum and the spells would be cast by whistling, which I thought was really cool. Now, it just switches to the standard spellcasting where the bard shouts incantations. I really liked the whistling feature and it feels more boring without it. Anyone else notice this or know if this is intentional?

Sounds like this might be a bug with the latest patch. Bards whistling their spells without an instrument was a cool little detail, so I’d guess it wasn’t purposely removed. You should probably report it through the game launcher’s bug report system so the devs can check it out.
Honestly, even if it gets fixed, I’m kind of glad I now know to avoid playing a bard. The whistling really annoyed me every time. If you don’t like hearing incantations, just make sure to equip the instrument you start with and it’ll cast normally without whistling or shouting.
Haha, fair enough! I thought the whistling was charming, but I get how it could get grating over time.
Thanks! Do you know if the launcher is the best place to report or is there another preferred method?
