I’ve got a question about the Pirate Legend hideout in Sea of Thieves. I remember back in the day when you’d come out of the glowing portal and spawn outside, needing to trek back up those stairs. Am I just imagining this, or did that actually happen?

You’re definitely not wrong! I remember when non-PL members in my party couldn’t enter the portal with me, but that seems to have changed. It’s like everyone gets a ticket to the hideout now. Kinda weird, right?
No doubt, it used to be that you had to climb the stairs back up. I remember grinding Athena’s and doing that climb so often back in 2020. What a pain! It’s much easier now for sure.
It really depends! I’ve spawned both upstairs and downstairs after coming back. If the stairs auto-close, it’s more likely you’ll end up downstairs. I’ve noticed when I’m with a party member who isn’t a Pirate Legend, I usually pop back out downstairs too.
