I’m building my first PC and I’m looking to stream, edit videos, and game comfortably. Here are the parts I’ve selected: AMD Ryzen 9 9950x3d for the CPU, ASUS TUF x870 plus Wifi for the motherboard, 2 sticks of Corsair Vengeance RGB totaling 48GB for RAM, a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD for storage, an ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 5080 for the graphics card, a Corsair 850x power supply, and a Kraken 360 Elite cooler. I also have an H9 Flow Elite case and I’m planning to use Windows 11 Pro. I bought Corsair XTM70 thermal paste too. Do you think these parts are good for my needs?

The RTX 5080 is seriously bad value at the moment. You might want to consider looking into other options if you’re budget-conscious.
Just to let you know, a lot of CPU coolers come with thermal paste already, so you might not need to buy extra. It’s a good idea to check what’s included!
Honestly, your build isn’t terrible, but I think you could have made better choices, especially with the GPU. It’s pretty overhyped for the price right now.
Yeah, I feel like I’m slowing down my decision-making here, but I hope that was just sarcasm!
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D should handle video editing just fine. If you’re not doing heavy editing all the time, you might’ve over-invested in the CPU, but it will definitely work for your needs!
My wife plans on animating projects and I’m looking to create some animated maps for D&D, along with editing videos in Adobe Premiere. I might even use Blender for 3D printing projects.
