I experienced issues after the recent PlayStation outage; my card details seem to have been leaked. I’ve spoken with my bank, and they reported several unauthorized payment attempts, including a suspicious £50 for a Netflix subscription. After around three hours with PlayStation support, my account was reset. However, I’ve been getting multiple phishing attempts on my Microsoft and Epic Games accounts too. I got disconnected from the chat twice during this long process, and I’m planning to call them tomorrow. Has anyone else faced similar problems?

Just a heads up, I linked my PayPal to PSN, which offers an extra layer of security. You might want to consider that next time!
Don’t rely on chat support; I’ve found calling them works much better. I went through something similar. Once they have a bit of your info, they might be able to bypass 2FA. Make sure you ask them to flag your account to prevent changes from being made after you regain access. Also, I recommend just removing payment info from your accounts whenever possible to safeguard against any future issues.
I’ll definitely call them. They changed my email, which locked me out, and I had to provide my console’s serial number to get back in. I’m also getting tons of phishing emails.
It sounds rough! Definitely enable two-factor authentication if you haven’t already. If you have any digital games, it’s just not worth the risk of keeping your payment details saved on the console. On another note, be aware that thieves can still bypass 2FA by reaching out to Sony support, especially if they have some basic info, so secure everything you can.
Yeah, it’s scary how easily they can access accounts if they have some of your info.
I had it set up on my PS5 but not my PS4, which I thought was covered too. Guess I was wrong!
Avoid saving your card details on the PlayStation. I’ve never had issues keeping my card info saved, but buying vouchers instead can save you a headache in the long run.
I’ve had my account since the PS4 and never faced issues before, but now I’m second-guessing everything.
Switching emails might be a good call if you’ve had that one for so long.
