With the upcoming Armor update for Edge of Fate, it looks like weapons will get some attention as well. However, I’m skeptical about simply increasing the number of barrels, perks, or magazines. Honestly, I’d love to see the developers reconsider the infinite ammo update for primary weapons. Ever since that change, primary weapons feel increasingly useless. It seems like they’re turning primaries into special weapons over the past year. I get it—how do you balance something that has infinite ammo? It’s tough, and it really diminishes their damage output, affecting the overall gameplay experience. I don’t think introducing special ammo variants is the solution either, as that would just add to the existing “not enough ammo” issue. What do you all think?

Going back to limited primary ammo feels like a huge mistake. We have some great primaries, but some archetypes are just dead in PvE. We shouldn’t discard effective systems to solve specific problems.
Reverting the infinite primary ammo would likely cause a lot of backlash, and honestly, it would just be a dumb move. It feels like we’d be going back to square one, where everything uses ammo again.
I’d hold off judgment until Edge of Fate is out. From the early footage of new weapons, it looks like they’re significantly changing damage values. There might be hope!
Reversing the infinite primary ammo sounds like a bad move right now. Adding more microtransactions is one thing, but messing with a system that was well-regarded could backfire big time.
Totally agree. I can’t remember the last time I used a primary weapon in high-level content—they’re just not effective.
I really hope so! Weapons could definitely use a boost in the game.
