Can Gale actually eat The Artefact, and if so, what would happen afterward? It’s not very straightforward since the artefact seems quite unique according to its magical properties. I’m curious if it would even be safe for him to try!

Honestly, I don’t think Gale could eat The Artefact. For one, it looks super spiky—wouldn’t that hurt his sensitive stomach? Plus, he generally absorbs magic, so it wouldn’t even be an actual meal for him, more like just taking in its magical essence. After that, the artefact would just become inert, not something he could digest like food.
I agree, plus after Act 1, Gale stops consuming items, especially since he’d know the Emperor’s voice is in his head. Looks like it’s more trouble than it’s worth for him.
I don’t think eating the artefact is a possibility anyway because it doesn’t seem to be powered by the Weave. Gale’s hunger is usually for Weave-based magic, so this artefact would likely be useless to him.
What about the artefacts he can eat? Do they just get broken down into raw magic for him, or do they end up stored in his sigil? I can’t see him breaking down The Artefact, but I guess it could still be stored somehow.
Yeah, it probably wouldn’t work out for Gale. The artefact is more like a portal between planes, not something that gets stuffed away like a snack. If he did manage to absorb it, we’d definitely see impacts on the whole crew, like everyone being enslaved by the Absolute. The Emperor wouldn’t let that happen without a fight, that’s for sure!
Exactly! That artefact is central to everything happening with Orpheus. If Gale destroyed it by trying to eat it, what happens to the Emperor and Orpheus? That could be a disaster.
