Hey everyone! I’ve recently started using the Blish HUD’s farming tracker to keep tabs on my gold earnings in real time, factoring in material costs. However, I’m running into an issue with blue and green unidentified gear. From what I’ve read, the strategy is to open blue gear and salvage it with Copperfed and to use Runecrafter for greens. But every time I do this, my gold tracking shows that I’m losing money instead of gaining. Am I missing something in my approach?

Are you identifying the items before salvaging them? It sounds like you might be salvaging the unidentified gear directly, which could impact your profits.
It’s common to see a profit overall, but you need to consider a larger sample size. Making an average profit might require salvaging hundreds of blues rather than just a few. The margins can be pretty tight, especially with fluctuating prices for un-ID’d gear and salvaged materials.
If your G/HR is dropping after opening and selling, it’s likely because selling unidentified gear is quicker. If you can make 20 gold from un-ID’d gear in just 5 minutes, that’s going to outperform the long process of opening and salvaging, even if you technically gain more gold in the end. Plus, the Copperfed documents gold to salvage, which could explain the initial dip, but ideally, your overall profit should still be higher.
I get that, but I’m not just looking at gold per hour—I’m focused on net profit as shown by the farming tracker, which seems to drop more often than not.
