Hey everyone! I’m in the market for a gaming laptop that can also handle video editing and 3D modeling since I’m a graphic designer. I’m torn between getting an AMD processor or Intel one. I’m specifically looking at the 2024 models of the ROG Zephyrus G16 and ROG Strix G16. Both options come with various configurations, but I definitely need a laptop that has at least a GeForce RTX 4060 or 4070 and 32GB of RAM. Any advice or personal reviews on these two laptops would be super appreciated!

Honestly, I think you might be better off just not getting a laptop at all. They can be convenient, but for tasks like 3D modeling, a powerful desktop is usually the better choice.
In my opinion, Intel laptops haven’t really been worth it since AMD’s Zen3 processors came out. However, the downside is that not many laptops are using AMD due to some contractual issues. Based on what I’ve seen, any Ryzen 7 or 8000 series CPU is likely going to outperform Intel’s Core i line. Just keep that in mind when you’re choosing!
I can see where you’re coming from, but it’s essential to realize that laptop performance varies even with the same CPU. You can’t just go by the AMD processor model number; you really need to look for specific benchmarks on the laptop you’re interested in. The naming schemes for AMD CPUs can be tricky!
