Hey gamers!
I stumbled across a 12-month PlayStation Plus physical card costing 269 RON (€54), which is way less than the 350 RON (€70) on the PS Store. The card mentions it’s for PS Plus but doesn’t specify if it’s for Essential, Extra, or Premium. Plus, it has “PS4” written on the bottom, and I’m rocking a PS5.
Has anyone else snagged one of these? Mainly, I’m curious:
– Could this be an old card from the single-tier PS Plus days?
– Does it function as a PS Store credit instead of directly giving me a 12-month subscription?
If you’ve used something similar, I’d love to know your experience before I decide to buy.
Thanks a bunch for the insights!

I grabbed one not long ago and got a 12-month subscription for the Essential tier—it worked like magic. But if you’re already on a higher tier like Extra or Premium, you’ll just get the equivalent days for that tier instead of extra time. I’ve seen some rumors floating around about it not working though, so tread carefully.
Keep in mind, instead of directly getting a 12-month PS Plus subscription, you might just end up with the gift card amount added to your PSN wallet. It could end up costing a bit more overall to cover a full-year membership, thanks to price changes.
Yeah, those cards are relics from before the tier system got introduced. Mostly, they convert to PSN wallet credit for the value you spent. But heads up, the card might not even work given its age—some were supposed to be taken off shelves ages ago.
