Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking about how many of us are guilty of picking up games on multiple platforms, especially during Steam sales. It can be a real hassle to start RPGs or long games all over again on PC when you’ve already invested time into them on consoles. I managed to transfer my save from the Switch version of Dragon Quest XI to the PC version, which was a game-changer for me! I’m curious if there’s a resource that lists games that support this kind of save transfer between console and PC? It would be super helpful for those of us who want to double-dip without losing progress, especially for longer games that we might not have finished initially.

Honestly, I don’t get why more games don’t allow cross-progression. It’s the games I end up buying twice that really should have this feature, especially for those investing in both consoles and PC.
Transferring saves is pretty rare across platforms. I’ve done it with Skyrim and Fallout 3, but usually the save formats are different, so moving data around can be tricky. If you’re looking for more games that allow this, it’s often easier with Unreal Engine titles, like Dragon Quest and Octopath Traveler. Just found out that No Man’s Sky supports cross saves too, which I might grab for the Steam Deck now!
Not a lot of games actually support save transfers. I know a few Xbox titles like Halo and Cuphead do, but that’s about it. Online games, like Destiny 2, might have some options too, but it’s generally pretty limited.
Yeah, that cross-save feature surprised me too! It would be great to compile a list of games that support these kinds of transfers.
