Is it possible to reset SPECIAL points or just change a few of them later on in the game? I am selecting the points that are best for me right now but I am worried they might not work for me later on in the game. Is it possible to change them in the future?

Yes, you can change them in the future. Once you get to level 50, you stop getting new points to spend. You can either pick a perk card or transfer 1 SPECIAL point for every level after 50. This will allow you to respec quite easily in the future if you find you start going in a different direction.
