I’m really trying to wrap my head around how Bran’s leveling system actually functions, but it’s been super confusing. So, as far as I can tell, Bran’s level reflects my character level, but then there’s also this delver’s journey track, which seems completely separate from his actual XP in the delves tab. It’s really hard to figure out which level I should be focusing on because they all seem to disagree! For instance, Bran is level 80 when I check him out, yet he shows as level 51 in the delve section. How does he even earn XP? I know the purple dudes give some bonus XP and the jars help, but what’s leveling what? Why are there three different leveling systems? I get understanding reputation and character level, but this third one just leaves me lost. I mean, does it even matter? I really want to max him out before the end of the patch since I started late, but I have no clue what to prioritize!

Just a little addition: when you see Bran as level 80, he’s scaling to match your character’s level, which happens with most NPCs in your party. The delver’s tab is where it really counts because that level directly influences his contributions in battle. So prioritize that for better performance! The delver’s journey is cool but separate, and it lets you earn some unique rewards.
Your confusion makes sense! Think of it this way: the level you see (like your level being 80) is just to balance the game mechanics, like damage taken or threat calculations. The only Bran level worth focusing on is in the delves tab; that’s what unlocks his skills and helps him scale better through the Explorer’s Ammunition and Healing Journals. The delver’s journey track is totally its own thing—ain’t related to his power but lets you buy rewards from certain NPCs in the game. So keep the delves tab level in sight for maximizing Bran!
From what I’ve gathered, the level shown when you select Bran in the game is tied to your reputation. So, that doesn’t really impact his abilities directly. The only level that truly matters for his power is the one in the delve tab. That’s his actual level which affects his damage and healing. The journey’s more about your progress through the season rather than Bran’s. To earn XP for him, focus on completing bountiful delves; that’s where most of it comes from. Plus, don’t worry too much about being behind. They’re implementing a catch-up mechanism next season, so he’ll get extra XP until he hits level 60!
Exactly! I like to think of the journey as a kind of battle pass. So, the level on his character icon is just for show, but the delve journal level is really what counts for damage and heals. Just throw your efforts towards that!
Right! Also, remember that the XP you gather specifically goes into that delve level, so all the other numbers can be a bit misleading.
