Are the battles with the other villagers at the rec center real battles where the planimals can die or will i still have all of the animals, uninjured after the battle is over?

When you battle villagers at the rec center, your planimals can die. When they die here, they are dead forever, just like in the dungeon. You will heat the heart dust stuff when they die to use in increasing the soil level. It is a useful place to go to get rid of some planimals if they are crowding up the farm and you want to increase the soil level.
