Hey everyone! I’m a long-time Elder Scrolls fan, and Oblivion was my first experience in Tamriel. I was super excited to see that the remaster just released, and I’m ready to dive back into all that nostalgia! However, my fiancé is concerned that my laptop might not be able to handle it, especially with the demanding performance of Monster Hunter: Wilds.
I have an Acer Nitro 5 with the following specs:
– Processor: Intel Core i5-9300H (4 cores, 8 threads)
– RAM: 8GB (but I’ve heard I can upgrade this)
– Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 (I think?)
I’m not really tech-savvy, and I’m not sure where to find more information about my laptop. It was a gift from my fiancé so we could game together. Can anyone tell me if I’ll be able to run the Oblivion remaster smoothly? Thanks! ❤️

With your specs, you might struggle to enjoy the game. A 4000 or 5000 series GPU would be better suited for the remaster. I’d say don’t get your hopes up for a smooth experience.
Honestly, even with high-end rigs, I’m having trouble keeping smooth frame rates. I have a Ryzen 3900x and a 4070 Super, and it can still be a challenge, especially when playing at 1440p. A laptop like yours will likely have a rough time with the game’s demands.
If you can run it at 1280×720 on low settings, you might see about 25-40 fps. Upgrading your RAM would help though; many folks are struggling even with 16GB right now, especially at launch.
That’s what my tech guy is saying! He’s been hunting for affordable parts for me, but everything’s kinda pricey in Canada because of shipping and tariffs.
That really bums me out… I may need to save up to either build a desktop with my tech friend or look into some upgrades for my laptop, even though it’s been pretty reliable until now.
