Can I Use My Steam Deck Anywhere?

-

Hey everyone! I had to move into emergency accommodation and left my PC behind for now. I’m thinking about getting a Steam Deck, but I’m wondering if I need to be on the same Wi-Fi network as my laptop to use it? Or can I just fire it up and play wherever?

Yep! It works independently of your PC. While you don’t necessarily need internet, some games do have online requirements, but most single-player games are good to go offline. I’ve been using mine in places without internet and it’s been great!

Glad to know! I’m excited to use it when I travel. My internet access is spotty, but I’ll manage.

You’re all set! The Steam Deck is fully standalone. Just remember, you might want to connect to the internet every now and then for updates or certain multiplayer games, but most single-player titles are totally playable offline. Go ahead and take it with you anywhere you want!

The Steam Deck is designed for standalone use, so you can take it anywhere! You won’t need to be on the same Wi-Fi as your laptop. Just keep in mind that if you play while offline, you might have some issues with syncing cloud saves later, but that’s about it. Most games will work perfectly fine without being online!

Awesome, that’s exactly what I needed to hear! I can’t wait to fire it up!
