I’ve gotten so used to using a 4-digit PIN on all my devices that I’m struggling with the 6-digit requirement on my Steam Deck. It’s become a hassle, and I really want to use my device securely. Is there any workaround or hidden setting, maybe via terminal commands in Linux, that lets me set a 4-digit PIN instead? I understand if it’s not possible, but I’d love to know if anyone has insights on this. Thanks!

You could just add “00” in front of your 4-digit PIN! That’s what I do for 6-digit requirements—it’s super easy to remember and works like a charm.
You could try repeating the last two digits of your 4-digit PIN to meet the 6-digit requirement. That way, you keep your muscle memory intact! Just a thought, though—I’m not sure how effective that would be long-term if you forget you’ve changed things up.
I thought about that too, but I’d worry about forgetting I’ve done that! Wouldn’t want to be locked out.
Have you thought about using the controller to enter your PIN? I find that it’s much faster than the touchscreen and helps me avoid overthinking the numbers!
I actually do the opposite and repeat my first two digits. It keeps the flow going for me! But I can see how it might be different if you have to remember a change.
