I’m new to desktop PCs since all my gaming has been on laptops. I’m looking to build a desktop soon, specifically the MSI Vision X AI, which comes with an Intel processor. I’m curious if I could swap out the Intel chip for a Ryzen 9950x3d. However, I’m concerned that such a change might affect the AI features of the system or other compatibility issues.

You can’t use a Ryzen chip on the MSI Vision X AI because it’s designed for an Intel processor. The sockets are different, so swapping them would require a motherboard change. Plus, I’m not sure why you’d want to replace a brand-new CPU anyway!
You could technically make the change if you replaced the motherboard with an AM5 compatible one, but it seems a bit excessive. Just stick to the Intel for now, unless you’re sure about the performance benefits of the Ryzen 9950x3d.
True, the 9950x3d has impressive gaming performance, so if you really want that upgrade and are willing to switch motherboards, it could be worth it!
Yep, that desktop uses an Intel Core Ultra system, so a Ryzen CPU won’t work unless you change the whole motherboard to one that supports AMD chips. Just keep in mind that doing that could also void warranties and might mess with the AI features.
Yeah, but Ryzen CPUs are generally considered to have better performance in gaming than Intel, especially models like the 9950x3d.
