Hey everyone! I’m currently playing Baldur’s Gate 3 and I’m only at level 4. I had this moment with Shadowheart where we had a drink and there was an option to kiss her, but I panicked because I’m not sure who I want to romance yet—there are so many characters I haven’t even met! So I ended up saying I just see her as a friend, which really upset her and now I feel bad. Can I still romance her later in the game after saying no? I really want to avoid spoilers, so I thought I’d ask here. Should I maybe just revert to my last save and go for the kiss? Thanks for any help!

Unfortunately, if you reject Shadowheart, that romance option is permanently closed. You can have up to two active romances in Act 1, but that means you’ll have to make some tough choices as the game progresses.
Actually, I’ve heard that you can have a few different romances going on at the same time early in the game! While it’s tricky if you declined one, you might be able to romance another companion and still keep the door open for Shadowheart later if you meet specific conditions. Just be careful with your dialogue choices.
Nope, once you say no, that’s it for that romance path. If you’re still uncertain about who to pursue, I’d suggest going back to that previous save and giving that kiss a try. I’ve been in the same boat—sometimes it feels like the hardest decision!
Yeah, if you decide to change your mind, just know that once you close the door, it’s likely shut for good! But hey, you can always replay or try exploring other characters if you’re still unsure.
